Federation Member Leader in Child Welfare:
This award is presented to a Federation member who helps to assure the Federation’s vision statement is at the forefront of all their actions: Michigan's most vulnerable children, families and individuals have access to and benefit from quality and cost-effective services supported by public and private dollars.
Sean de Four, Vice President of Child and Family at Samaritas, is presented with the 2017 Federation Member Leader in Child Welfare award for being an outstanding leader in the field. Sean has been at the forefront of many key Federation activities, volunteering to assist with advocacy and membership activities at many junctures throughout the year. Sean has co-chaired the Child Welfare Partnership Council, leading the efforts for development of performance-based systems and managing the diverse perspectives of a multitude of stakeholders involved in the endeavor in an engaging and meaningful way. Sean has been a very proactive and outspoken advocate and leader for refugee populations, working with local communities and the media to support this population. Sean has also moved into a leadership role, serving as Treasurer of the Federation’s Board of Directors. Sean is assertive, constructive, and informative when articulating a need or concern. Sean always represents the child welfare community as a whole in his communications, ensuring that what is right for kids is always the focus of our work. The Federation staff appreciates Sean for his forward and big-picture thinking in order to meet the needs of vulnerable children and families!
