Christ Child House (CCH) is a private, 501 (c)3 organization located in Detroit, Michigan. With the mantra “It’s Never Too Late To Have A Happy Childhood”, CCH provides comprehensive and therapeutic residential care, trauma-informed clinical treatment, for 31 boys ages 6-16, which have fallen victim to abuse and/or neglect. CCH, which is Council On Accreditation (COA) accredited, has a staff of approximately 50 professional staff members. We are the seeking the following key individual to join our team:
Reporting to the Board of Directors of Christ Child Society (CCS), the Executive Director (ED) has overall responsibility for the implementation of policies, programs and operations of the agency. The ED is responsible for an organizational culture that values a nurturing environment, providing training and development, the promulgation of innovative problem-solving, and adaptability in a changing and complex external child welfare environment.
CCH seeks a dynamic and experienced Executive Director who will report directly to the CCS Board of Directors. The Executive Director must have a Master’s Degree in a human service field, preferably a Master’s of Social Work or equivalent, with a minimum of ten (10) years in an administrative leadership role, with at least five (5) years in a child caring institution. The candidate must have strong leadership skills with a proven track record of leading organizational change and growth. This person must demonstrate strong competence in serving high-risk children in need, while recognizing increasing challenges at the local, regional, and national level.
The individual selected to lead the agency will have high competency in organizational management, fund development, community relations, and advocacy. They must also demonstrate strong problem solving and strategic planning skills, as well as a solid understanding of the changing and complex child welfare landscape. This person must have strong communication skills, be versatile and flexible, and have high integrity. He/she must envision the future growth, while managing day-to-day operations.
CCH desires a leader who can commit to maintaining a strong presence in the community as well as advocate with DHS, philanthropists, and state lawmakers. He/She must have a strong commitment to maintaining best practices in clinical treatment as well as nonprofit management.
