Director of Continuing Education, MSU School of Social Work
The MSU School of Social Work is dedicated to educating students for ethical, competent, responsive, and innovative social work practice, and to conducting and disseminating high quality research that improves the well-being of the most vulnerable in society. Our teaching, research, and outreach synergistically promote social justice, positive change, and solutions to the problems facing diverse individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. More than 650 students are enrolled in our CSWE-accredited BASW and MSW programs, and PhD program.
The MSU School of Social Work Continuing Education program is seeking a dynamic, organized, team and results oriented person for the position of Specialist- Outreach, Director of our Continuing Education. The Director of Continuing Education is responsible for identifying strategic priorities and objectives and for the implementation of these plans. This role engages in extensive outreach in the forms of committee work and collaboration with both internal and external networks to advance the mission of the School. In addition, this position directs the operational, planning, and marketing efforts for in person and distance learning programs. The Program Director supervises and/or oversees task assignments of others. This position engages in continuous quality improvement measures, develops and implements policies and procedures, complies with professional regulatory bodies, and evaluates program outcomes. This role is responsible for teaching academic and continuing education courses as assigned. Duties include:
- Attend all required School meetings and activities.
- Actively participate in assigned School committee.
- Teach academic courses as assigned by the Associate Director of Instruction.
Masters -Social Work
Masters degree in Social Work, plus state of Michigan license eligible with five years post-MSW experience.
Understanding of the NASW Code of Ethics and the ability to articulate social work values; experience with regulatory compliance; knowledge of Association of Social Work Boards; Approved Continuing Education and the State of Michigan Social Work Continuing Education guidelines and requirements; experience hosting and/or providing continuing education trainings; comfortable with public speaking; proficiency in Microsoft Office products, and Zoom.
