Who we are West Michigan Partnership for Children (WMPC) administers foster care services to children and families in Kent County, MI in partnership with Bethany Christian Services, Catholic Charities West Michigan, D.A. Blodgett—St. Johns, Samaritas, and Wellspring Lutheran Services. WMPC is piloting an innovative performance-based funding model through a contract with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, utilizing a case rate that incentivizes permanency while allowing for flexibility and creativity in funds. WMPC utilizes software that will allow for predictive analytics to project successful outcomes, and flag cases that are at risk. How you will spend your day The Director of Care Coordination and Innovation is responsible for providing oversight of children and families children receiving foster care and other services through WMPC and its partner agencies and is responsible for developing innovative strategies to serve children and families. • Developing new, reviewing and revising current, and overseeing implementation of protocols, policies, and procedures related the referral and placement of children with WMPC subcontracted providers.   • Coordinating with the Performance and Quality Improvement Team to track capacity of the WMPC to place and serve children.  • Developing innovative strategies to increase programmatic and staffing capacity to serve children and families.  • Evaluating usage placements and services to determine trends, systemic issues, cost data, and gaps in client care and service needs through research, case consultation, and program oversight activities.  
            • Remaining knowledgeable of current research and evidence-based practice in foster care related services and interventions.  • Overseeing education and learning for WMPC subcontracted providers and other stakeholders. • Responsible for ensuring timely and quality reporting to stakeholders. • Participating in periodic inter-office projects, such as strategic planning, staff development, conferences, annual reports, etc. • Developing a liaison relationship with Kent County DHHS, Network180, Kent County family court, juvenile justice, education, health, our partners and other systems impacting children and families serviced by WMPC.
What we need from you  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health, Public Administration, or related field • Three years of progressively responsible experience required, including supervisory and/or administrative leadership; clinical license preferred.   • Experience working for a child-placing agency preferred.  Knowledge of child welfare principles/standards, practices, and systems (i.e. foster care, adoption, child placing agency licensing and placement procedures). • Knowledge of historical racism, systemic discrimination, implicit bias, and the linkage to inequities in child and family outcomes. • Understanding of youth-serving systems from the perspective of a youth, parent, or caregiver being served preferred. • Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed practices. • Data analysis skills and technical writing expertise. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. • Strategic planning skills. • Supervisory experience. Ability to listen well, motivate, and inspire. • Interpersonal skills necessary to lead and interact with a diverse group of individuals and stakeholders.   • Valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and web-based applications.
