Who We Are

WMPC is a new organization that will provide foster care services to children and families in Kent County, MI in partnership with Bethany Christian Services, Catholic Charities of West Michigan, D.A. Blodgett—St. Johns, Samaritas, and Wellspring Lutheran Services. WMPC will pilot a performance-based contract, utilizing a case rate that incentivizes permanency while allowing for flexibility and creativity in funds. WMPC will utilize software that allows for predictive analytics to project successful outcomes, and flag cases that are at risk. WMPC seeks to empower and strengthen families to improve outcomes for children.

How you will spend your day

  • Assisting the CFO and COO in preparing and reviewing contracts, subcontracts, and budgets.
  • Ensuring service utilization expenses are within the WMPC budget.
  • Training partners to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Processing sub-recipient reimbursements.
  • Disseminating financial-related information and developing fiscal policies and

    procedures.

  • Ensuring the timely completion and submission of required program and financial

    reports following the appropriate format. 

  • Conducting financial reviews of sub-recipients as needed.
  • Working with the PQI team on developing and ensuring a system for financial and

    contract tracking through MindShare.

  • Assisting the leadership team in developing assumptions regarding the utilization of the

    case rate expected under the plan and under alternative strategies.

  • Preparing monthly financial reports including financial statements by funds, cash use

    statements, and cash projections.

  • Assisting CFO in preparation of the WMPC annual budget incorporating forecasts and

    volume projections into budget.

  • Performing cost analysis of current and proposed services, programs, and departments.
  • Assisting the CFO in reviewing cash balances and projected uses for making investment

    recommendations.

  • Managing financial and quality control of funding proposal processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    What we need from you

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Four to five years financial modeling experience with contract negotiation and

    administrative experience desired.

  • Meticulous attention to details to ensure accuracy in documentation and data.
  • Ability to gather raw data and process that data into meaningful forms using scientific

    approaches.

  • Knowledge of a variety of funding types and reporting requirements, federal and state

    laws, rules and regulations related to the child welfare industry.

  • Experience working with industry research and or government contracting.
  • Familiarity and understanding of best practices for project management and

    performance-based contract management.

  • Experience in performing cost analysis of financial products and services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to lead and interact with a diverse group of individuals and

    stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and web-based applications, especially Excel.
