Job Title:

Clinical Supervisor/Trainer

One position will be in the Saginaw area, the other in the Flint Area.  This position requires a fully licensed MSW or LPC. 

Position Overview

Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and oversees training activities within the Behavioral Health and/or Child Welfare divisions of the Agency.  Plans, develops, and implements training program content within the goals, objectives, and philosophies of Holy Cross Services to increase skill and knowledge level of staff.  Provides clinical consultation, training, and evaluation on a regular basis and as needed.  Participates in design and implementation of training programs developed by the agency.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees quality assurance and quality improvement for Agency’s programs to ensure acceptable outcomes.

 

  • Manages the accreditation process for the Agency.  Remains abreast of accreditation standards and oversees periodic reviews to ensure program compliance. 

 

  • Oversees clinical training and development to ensure integrated treatment services are provided throughout the Agency.  Develops staff through individual and group instruction, conference participation, continued academic classes and career development review.

 

  • Provides clinical consultation through case assessments, documentation and videotape reviews, live supervision, and analysis of program evaluation information; assures the proper use of clinical treatment techniques and the appropriate professional conduct of staff.

 

  • Confers with the Regional Director to review status/progress of the treatment programs and projects.

 

  • Participates in recommending agency policies and programs, and suggests methods to motivate co-workers through program review, various team meetings, local and regional management meetings.

 

  • Coordinates and facilitates issues with the offices of Program Evaluation, Pastoral Services, Information Systems as well as Standards and Compliance.

 

  • Maintains currency in the profession by reading various forms of professional literature, and by attending training classes or workshops, seminars, classes and conferences offered by schools or professional organizations.

 

  • Responsible for de-escalating angry youth, physically guiding youth needing assistance and physically restraining youth who may be aggressive towards themselves or others.

                                                                                      

  • Responsible for teaching, modeling, practicing, supporting and articulating the Agency’s treatment philosophy and/or others that may be required contractually.

 

  • Responds in a relevant physical manner to an explosive incident in a group situation which may include the use of physical

intervention.  This may require twisting, kneeling, bending, crouching, grabbing, holding, reaching, stretching, climbing, turning, crawling, and quick movement.

 

  • Performs other duties related to the essential duties of the position and within the individual’s capabilities as assigned by one’s Supervisor.

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Master’s degree in clinical human services field and 5 years of related experience (preferably in a children’s services environment).

Certification:

 

Licenses Needed:

Valid and Current Driver’s License. Meet State “Good Moral Character” guidelines.

  • Ability to assess, interpret, and respond appropriately to verbal and non-verbal communications of youth and co-workers.
  • Ability to understand cause and effect relationships and the interrelatedness of one’s own behavior relative to the behavior of others.
