Greetings, Federation members.
Attached is this week's bulletin: FYI • May 13, 2011 • No. 10
The next FYI bulletin will be issued May 27, 2011
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
• HR Spring Tune-Up another success!—Thirty-plus private agency staff took advantage of the expertise offered at this year’s Federation-sponsored annual HR Spring Tune-Up training in Lansing. Topics covered national health care reform and what you need to know now/next; creating a customer service culture and program; and steps to take if you’ve been sued, starting with “don’t panic!” Many thanks to Federation Corporate Sponsor Berends Hendricks Stuit Insurance Agency for putting this program together on behalf of the Federation’s HR MIN. Handouts from the training have been emailed to HR MIN members. Attendees are already looking forward to next year’s training!
• Adoption contract negotiations resume—The group of private agency representatives, which met previously with DHS officials both last summer and in February, meets on Monday with DHS Deputy Director Dudley Spade at the Federation office to work on the new adoption contract for October 1, 2011.
SPECIAL NOTE: Sponsor can cover cost of youth attending Michigan Teen Conference!
We encourage agencies to promote in your communities the new sponsor opportunities available to support the Michigan Teen Conference.
Sponsor options include a special Youth Sponsor category, at a cost of $150, which covers the registration fee and overnight stay for one youth attending the two-day conference.
Knowing private agency and YIT funding are both limited, why not ask local businesses and friends to help out!
The Teen Conference sponsorship flier is attached for your convenience.
