Division Director, Child Welfare Services Sought by Child & Family Services, Capital Area

As one of three division directors of Child Welfare Services, the person in this position shares the responsibility of providing leadership and direct supervision to an array of child welfare programs which include foster care, licensing, adoption, post adoption, and supervised independent living. The overarching responsibility is to ensure that services are carried out in accordance with agency mission and values as well as policies and standards set by funding and contract sources, state licensing authorities, and the Council on Accreditation.

Coordinates activities of a group home or treatment program unit by planning, implementing and coordinating group and individual treatment and group home or program activities and scheduling; evaluates group home or program functions; conducts group meetings and documents the group process; supervises, coordinates or facilitates all aspects of treatment and activities to achieve effective, organized, and cost effective and efficient programming in the Agency’s contractual obligations, objectives, goals, policies, philosophies and missions.

Requires MSW or Master’s degree in Psychology or Guidance & Counseling; OR Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or Guidance & Counseling and 2 years paid related experience in a child caring agency (residential program).
