Ability to implement or use database a must. Writing sample required. Willing to provide services in culturally diverse environment; ability to provide testimonies in courtroom setting. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with proof of insurance and favorable driving record required.

• Senate completed first pass at budget bills before spring recess
Included in the Senate-passed budget bills were:
• House Appropriations Committee approves supplemental appropriation for current FY
• Bills aimed at permanency for children
• Child abuse definition expanded
• Governor signs child booster seat requirement

STATE JUDICIAL/EXECUTIVE/ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIVITIES
• Out-of-state placement update
• Six private agency representatives volunteer for CFSR
• DHS alerts child placing agencies to surveys related to CFSR

WMU Foster Youth and Higher Education Initiative

Western Michigan University, located in Kalamazoo Michigan, has launched a Foster Youth and Higher Education Initiative, which includes the John Seita Scholarship Program for youth who are aging out of foster care.
