Governor Granholm has proclaimed Tuesday, April 10th Safe Delivery of Newborns Day in Michigan. There are two media events on April 10th: one at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing (at 3:00 p.m.) and the other at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit (2:00 p.m.). A third media event will follow later in April to be held on the west side of the state, likely Grand Rapids. DHS Director Udow and MDCH Director Olszewski will speak at the Lansing event and Dr. Herman Gray, of Children’s Hospital, and Phyllis Meadows, of the Detroit Health Department are scheduled to speak in Detroit.
