HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS PREPARE FOR THE WORLD OF WORK
HERSEY, MI. – The program brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “getting ready for work.” Ten students from Chi Ethridge’s class at Chippewa Hills High School participated in the Michigan Works! Eagle Village Jumpstart program Nov. 20-22 at the Adventure Learning Center.
The Jumpstart program helps prepare youth for entering the work force.
“The program was designed to create a fun-filled, action packed way for students to start developing work readiness skills, team building skills and life skills to be used when they get out into the work force. Activities during the 2 _ day event included setting individual goals when climbing the rock wall and ropes course in addition to group activities to work on team building,” said Michigan Works! youth employment specialist Angie Danzeisen.
Michigan Works! Eagle Village Youth Employment Service Programs are available to youth ages 14-21 in Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Newaygo and Osceola counties to assist with work readiness skills, paid work experience situations and on-the-job training programs.
